However, PCLL Conversion exams are not offered for the following subjects: Contract Law, Tort Law, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Land Law, and Equity. This means that in order to be eligible for admission to the PCLL in HK, you must demonstrate competence in these subjects via your main law qualification.

However, note that PCLL Conversion exams are only offered for the following core subjects: Commercial Law, Evidence Law and Business Associations.

All exams are now open book exams, including: Commercial Law, Evidence Law, Business Associations, Hong Kong Land Law, Hong Kong Legal System and Hong Kong Constitutional Law. You can bring our notes and study materials into these exams without any difficulty!

PCLL Conversion exams for the core subjects are 3 hours long while conversion exams for the 3 top-up subjects are 1.5 hours long.

Yes, the PCLL Conversion past papers are available on the Conversion Examination Board website. These include some general commentary on the responses for the particular examination year, but no detailed PCLL Conversion past paper answers are provided. How do I apply for the PCLL Conversion Examinations?
- If you wish to apply to sit for any of the PCLL Conversion exams, you must complete FORM B (available at http://www.pcea.com.hk/).
- Together with FORM B, you must also send a cheque/ bank draft of the examination fees payable to the “PCLL Conversion Examination and Administration Limited”.
- You should return FORM B together with the cheque/ bank draft as mentioned above to the address below:

- If you wish to seek exemption from any of the PCLL Conversion core or top up subjects, you should complete FORM A (available at http://www.pcea.com.hk/).
- Together with FORM A, you must also send a copy (not originals) of all official academic transcripts for the subjects that you are applying for exemption
- Together with FORM A, you must also send a cheque/ bank draft payable to the "PCLL Conversion Examination and Administration Limited".
- You should return FORM A together with copies of your academic transcript and the cheque/ bank draft as mentioned above to the address below:
